Another Week, Another Dollar

This week the FACE entrepreneurship program has been exciting. At the start of the week, the interns learned about business structure. They discussed the disadvantages and advantages of each business structure from a partnership to a nonprofit organization. On Tuesday, the young interns walked around Overtown to speak to some of the local business owners about their business. A few of the businesses that the young interns interviewed were House of Wings, Herbal Life, Black Kutz, Jackson Soul Food and some of the corner stores. Each intern spoke with each business owner about their business, and everyone learned something new from the experience. The interns also watched Shark Tank and discussed if they will invest in the movie company that put out this movie. A company that some of the interns said that they would invest in is BZ box. BZ box provides a quicker way to pack, and it could be very beneficial for college students. Later that week, the young interns had the pleasure of meeting the founders of Pass The Notes. The founders emphasize the importance of team work, dedication, and perseverance. Today, they went to an event, Momentum for Social Innovation. They have the opportunity to network with business owners and other leaders in the surrounding communities. See Pop-Up Shop Trailer!
